Ergonomic Desk

An ergonomic desk is a desk that allows adequate working space. Your desk should be balanced – that is there should be some tasks that put on the right side of the desk and some tasks put on the left. You should not have everything on one side. This will create an imbalance in the muscles in your body.

There are desks on the market now that are sit to stand – this means that you can sit and work or stand and work. The human body is not designed to sit all day. A sit to stand desk allows for that flexibility during the working day. This type of solution is especially useful for someone who has major problems with their back, such as post surgery, or lumbar spine disc protrusions.

The variation in movement throughout the day aims to minimise the amount of stress placed on the back during sitting and increase blood flow and stretches out the muscles.
